This morning's waning moon

View at EarthSky Community Photos. | Dr Ski in Valencia, Philippines, captured this morning's moon and drew in a straight line to show you it's a waning moon, slightly smaller in phase than a half-lit moon at last quarter. See how the terminator - or line between light and dark on the moon - isn't exactly straight? Dr Ski wrote: "Five hours after last quarter, the sunset terminator is showing us a 47%-illuminated moon … " Thanks, Dr. Ski!
