Where's the moon? Waxing crescent

Many photos of Sunday evening's extremely thin and lovely young moon. A few glimpsed it near Mercury and Saturn, too. Watch for the waxing crescent in the evenings ahead.

The moon and Saturn are fairly easy to spot Monday evening, if you have a clear view to the west after sunset. 

Jupiter's independently pulsating auroras   

The auroras over Earth's north and south poles typically mirror each other. But X-ray observations show that Jupiter's auroras pulse on different timescales.

Where's the moon? Waxing crescent

Sunday evening's waxing crescent moon from Nuno Lopes in Barreiro, Portugal. More photos here. On Monday evening, you should be able to see Saturn near the moon.
