May 17 - Blue Moon This Weekend

The May 18, 2019, Blue Moon isn't likely to be blue in color. It's the 3rd of 4 full moons in a season ... blue in name only. Elizabeth Crehan in New Canaan, Connecticut, said she added "a nice quiet blue hue" to this shot via photo processing.

When did you last see Venus?

From Earth's northerly latitudes this month, Venus sits low in the glare of morning twilight. The northern tropics and Southern Hemisphere enjoy a better view. Dr Ski in Valencia, Philippines, wrote: "Venus is now only 8 degrees above my horizon in nautical twilight. It will be challenging to capture the Venus-crescent moon conjunction on June 1!"
