Tonight … Young moon after sunset

Springtime is a beautiful time of year to watch for young moons. You might have seen one last night. Friday evening's young moon is even easier to spot, especially if you're in the Northern Hemisphere. Read more.

Eclipse shows moon move in reverse

Check out this interesting eclipse of the sun by Earth's moon, seen on March 6 by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory. During the eclipse, SDO saw the moon appear to reverse its direction! See it and learn why.

What is earthshine?
