Jupiter is always bright, but it's especially so now because Earth will pass between Jupiter and the sun on May 9.
Fireball over Dry Tortugas
Jeff Berkes captured this fireball - a very bright meteor - at Dry Tortugas National Park in Florida last Sunday, during the peak of the Lyrid meteor shower. He said, "The meteor was so bright that it left reflections in the water surrounding the moat."
