Nickname New Horizons' next target

The craft that flew by Pluto in 2015 is heading for a Kuiper Belt object currently designated 2014 MU69. The mission team wants you to help nickname it.

Wow! Juno's 8th science flyby of Jupiter

A new and awesome batch of images has emerged from the Juno mission's most recent flyby of Jupiter. Plus, the mission gets a new project manager.

Watch for Jupiter below Venus!

Have you seen Jupiter yet? We're hearing from a few people who have. Bright Jupiter will emerge from the dawn glare to meet even brighter Venus on November 13.

Tonight … Moon and Regulus, late night to dawn

They'll be close from moonrise on, and highest in the sky on Saturday morning. In the coming mornings, watch the moon edge toward Venus and Jupiter before dawn.

Friday FAQ … Why do trees shed their leaves?

Something to think about while you’re raking.

We sold out of these calendars quickly last year. Get yours now! P.S. They make great holiday gifts.

Moon and Regulus, late night to dawn

Not shown on this chart … If you see them around dawn, notice the lighted face of the moon points toward 2 bright objects near the sunrise. Brighter one is Venus. Fainter one (but still bright) is Jupiter.
