Tonight … Orionid meteor shower peak

This weekend is an awesome time to look for meteors in the annual Orionid shower. They'll probably most prolific in the hours before dawn Saturday morning.

Also … Watch for Taurid fireballs

North and South Taurid meteor showers happen simultaneously in late October and November. They're relatively minor showers, but produce a high percentage of fireballs, or bright meteors.

Watch spacewalk this morning

The spacewalk starts at approximately 8:05 a.m. EDT (12:05 UTC; translate to your time zone). How to watch.

Star of the week: Deneb Kaitos is Sea-Monster's Tail

Look for Deneb Kaitos - brightest star in Cetus the Whale - highest in the sky around mid-evening.

Watch for Taurid fireballs

Jeff Dai in Tibet captured this Taurid fireball in November, 2015, over Yamdrok Lake.
