Big asteroid to sweep close September 1

Biggest near-Earth object to pass so close since this category of objects was discovered a century ago. Possibly visible in binoculars.

Cassini's final 5 starts today

As part of its Grand Finale, the Cassini spacecraft begins its  final 5 orbits today, a set of ultra-close sweeps through Saturn’s upper atmosphere.

Next few mornings … Moon sweeps through Taurus

Notice the V-shaped pattern of stars in Taurus. This V - representing the Bull's Horns - is how the Bull got its name. Today we know it's an actual star cluster, called the Hyades.
