How to watch a solar eclipse safely

DO NOT use sunglasses, polaroid filters, smoked glass, exposed color film, x-ray film, or photographic neutral density filters. DO use #14 or darker welder's glass (shown in image above), a safe solar filter or eclipse glasses from a reputable vendor, or an indirect viewing method. OR join a group at a local park, nature center, library or other location, where amateur astronomers are providing safe views.

Moon on its way to the eclipse
Closer and closer to the sunrise! This is Saturday morning's moon from our friend Lunar 101 Moon Book. It has now passed Venus - the bright "star" in this photo - and is heading sunward. Will you see the moon Sunday morning? Maybe! Look low in the east.
